Don't blog about this.

But I couldn't resist.

BMW has been playing a guessing game, giving the audience little information bit by bit and using reverse psychology tricks to leave us wanting to know more. This is their way of building up some anticipation and spark curiosity for the Paris Motor Show perhaps?

If you know me enough, you would know that I'm a beemer fan.

By launching a site that is ironically titled Don't Blog About This, it's aim is to create suspense and have us bloggers, spread the word among beemer fans, each having their own guessing comment card, as well as having us make the hype for the mysterious black mobile, even though it 'tells' us to not blog about it.

It's almost like child's play. Telling the kid to not eat the marshmallow for 5 minutes and they'll get another one, leave the kid in the room and wait to see what the kid would do with a soft colourful yummy fluffy marshmallow. But the difference is, bmw doesn't say they'll give us another 'marshmallow'.

Or how when parents tell the children 'Don't run. Don't eat that. Don't do this. Don't do that.' and what does the child do? Exactly the opposite. The other difference? We know full well of what is going on and what they wants us to do with the whole reverse psychology tactic. We know what this is, we know what we won't be getting but still we will do it. Because it's a BMW.

Well, I gotta say, it worked on me.

If you really don't get it, think Dee Dee from Dexter's Laboratory with her famous lines of 'ooooh, what does this red button do?'.

The front look of the car is pretty much similar to the vision efficient dynamics concept car BMW made last year, but let's hope the colours of the car won't be the same. The back reminds me of a 6 series, and that's not exactly a compliment.

Everything else about the car is left a mystery. Other sites have been playing their part of the game and most of them are placing their guess that the car is another electric hybrid. The approach of the publicity stunt from the site is very bmw-ish. They've always been crafty with their ads, so I'm not surprised they managed to come out with this as well.

I just know that I can't wait.
