A nostalgic state.

Got back from a day trip.

The four of us; Bina, Iman, Eka and I headed down to Malacca with one sole purpose; breaking fast in Malacca. We had the famous laksa at Jonker Street. I've heard quite a lot about that place, especially the cendol, but to be honest, the laksa wasn't anything amazing, I ate better laksas before. (with better service!)

However, when it comes to Malacca, there's this one thing that will always make me happy; Chicken rice balls! Still my favourite since young whenever my family goes back to my daddy's hometown. But unfortunately, by the time we reached there, the shop has already closed.

There was one particular chicken rice ball stall that I love.

Back in those days, my dad would bring us there every time, before heading back to KL. Till today, I still don't know what the shop was called. It was given another identity by us, which was the 'Shell station chicken rice ball under the big tree'. Because the hawker restaurant was under a big tree, next to a Shell station. Regrettably, that stall is no longer there. I felt so unhappy when I found out.

I'm not sure whether it closed forever or just shifted to another location.

After dinner, the four of us went walking around Jonker Street; my second time of walking through the entire street throughout my whole life even though I've been to Malacca many times before. All of us headed to the beach and chilled there for quite some time.

Being back at Malacca after so many years since the last visit with my dad is without doubt different. The food that we used to wake up early in the morning for, has either changed in taste or the shop is no longer there. The ocean has been replaced by new buildings and roads. A lot has changed about that state.

I'm not sure whether to feel happy or sad about it.

oves,
vee.
