Cooped up in a drybox.

I've finally gained the courage.

To open up the cupboard and take out all of daddy's SLRs. It has been sitting inside there for almost 5 years now. I've been looking at the cameras too many times, often do I just sit and take each of it out slowly, looking at it and then arrange it all back into the cupboard.

I've never dared to use it.

Always afraid that I'll spoil it somehow. But today, it was different. I felt that it is now the time to finally take another step into this world of photography. The right time.

I'm not sure why I love film, even though the digital world is very intriguing. There's something about film that gives off a different kind of feeling than digital. It's almost spellbinding. Digital and film; Each have their own world. It's own unique features and things about it that'll make you fall in love. Each has their beauty and their flaws.

Both are equally captivating and loved.

I started to venture more into film photography only 2 or 3 years ago by buying my own cameras and equipments. I didn't want that part of the world of photography to fade away, but I also didn't want to risk damaging daddy's expensive cameras. So I bought my own (much cheaper) cameras.

As for daddy's cameras? Kept in storage for memories. Awaiting for the day where I feel I'm ready to take up that step and that day has arrived. Since the accident, I realized that it has changed. It's not made to be kept inside the drybox. It is time for it to get out of the cupboard, and do what it was meant to do.

Capture moments.
